Why Shop Mission Made Jewelry
When you shop Mission Made Jewelry, we believe it is crucial you know the positive impact of purchasing our products and a little bit about what you are buying.
Mission Made Jewelry is an essential key to the Christian ministry, Haiti Awake. Haiti Awake is an organization that equips local Christians to reach their own communities and their own country through showing Christ’s love in action. Some main programs they run are a community center in Haiti that offers different after-school programs every day for children, and a child sponsorship program that connects a child with an adult sponsor.
Haiti Awake’s three missions are community development, church ministry development, and economic development. Economic Development is where Mission Made Jewelry plays an essential role in Haiti Awake. All the products are handmade by Haitian Artisans directly in Haiti, and 100% of proceeds are directed to artisans and the ministry of Haiti Awake.
When you shop sewn products these were handmade by Haitian artisans who learned how to sew by both going to sewing school and by working with an American seamstress who has volunteered her time and resources in Haiti.
When you shop washer necklaces and bracelets, bar necklaces, cuffs, and anything else stamped, these were hand-stamped by our Haiti Awake and Mission Made Jewelry employees, Hudson Louis, Wesly Bien-Aime, and Chery Jocelet or “Big”. We did a blog post on Hudson Louis which you can read here.
When you shop beaded bracelets these were designed and assembled by our employees using beads that are made and bought locally in Haiti.
Lastly, our beautiful earrings come from different Haitian artisans, including those employed by 2nd Story Goods, an organization whose mission and philosophy we endorse.
With that being said, let each piece you buy be a reminder of the talented artisans that created them and the beautiful culture of Haiti.
